In an interview with Jimmy Fallon, Kristen Bell shared how proud she is to be a part of Frozen 2, and that the film helps to show young boys that it’s okay to have “big loving feelings.”
Bell voices Anna in the sequel, and said it differs from the first movie in diving into romantic feelings rather than the sibling bond between Anna and Elsa that drives the first movie.
In the song ‘Lost in the Woods,’ Bell praises how Kristoff and Anna show one another strength and support, but more importantly vulnerability.
“Little boys don’t often see representation of other boys having really big loving feelings, and there’s a line in the song that says, ‘You feel your feelings, and your feelings are real.'”
“He rescued Anna at one point and he’s in the midst of battle,” Bell said. “Then, he looks at her and the first thing he says is, ‘I’m here, what do you need?’ He doesn’t say, ‘stand back, I’ve got this,’ and I stood up when I saw that and was like, ‘Does anyone know how profound that line is?'”
Bell said before the film’s release, she was “in the mood to be a cool mom” and shared all the spoilers with her two daughters before the movie came out. Realizing that she was in violation of her contract, and worried that her kids would spill the beans to their classmates, Bell gave them the ultimate warning:
“I tell them all the time…I say, number one, all your teeth are gonna fall out. Which is the best thing you can say to a kid,” Bell said in an interview with Sirius XM Town Hall.
Bell admitted she shouldn’t have shared the script secrets in advance and that she was worried she could be sued by Disney.
“It was a mistake,” she said, adding: “The teeth thing I stand by.”
