Next year, Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA will host Camp TAZO, a two-day retreat designed to help creatives renew mental focus and inspiration.
The event, sponsored by the TAZO tea brand, will take place in February 2020 in Staten Island, NY, taking The RZA, nee Robert Fitzgerald Diggs, back to his stomping grounds in the borough where the Wu-Tang Clan was formed in 1992. He will lead a series of motivating workshops intended to guide participants through a journey of creative discovery.
“It takes focus to actively achieve Zen in your life, but it’s a meaningful way to chase the creative passions that can be fulfilling, beyond the daily hustle and grind that can overcome us,” said RZA in a statement. “Working with TAZO, I feel fortunate to return home and provide a means for other creators to come together and venture into the depths of their own minds to discover new creative truths.”
The 2020 event marks the second Camp TAZO retreat. RZA’s stint follows the inaugural camp hosted by RuPaul’s Drag Race contestant Alyssa Edwards in Austin.
