Super Bowl LV Is Going To Be A Show For Everyone

The Super Bowl is an event that many Americans and people around the world flock to even if Football really isn’t their thing. The National Football League has made sure that this is as much of a pop culture event as it is a sporting one. Here’s what we can expect on Super Bowl Sunday.

Amanda Gorman

If you didn’t get enough of Amanda Gorman during the Presidential inauguration ceremony this year, you’re in for a treat this Sunday. The 22-year-old and the country’s first National Youth Poet Laureate, will be gracing this event, that is normally associated with beer, chicken wings and Doritos, with her poetry. This will put her in front of an audience far larger than that of the inauguration. Even though Joe Biden’s inauguration was the most watched in history, last year’s Super Bowl viewership reached nearly three times what the inauguration did.

The Weeknd

With over 45 platinum singles and albums over the last decade, it’s no wonder why there’s major excitement for this year’s halftime show. He was named one of the most influential people of 2020 by Time Magazine. This will be the second year in a row the NFL collaborates with Roc Nation, Jay-Z’s entertainment agency, and Pepsi to bring us what will likely be an amazing performance. The Weeknd promises ‘something we’ve never done.’

Tom Brady

For Tampa Bay and Buccaneers fans this may be the most exciting sporting event in memory. For the first time in NFL history the Super Bowl will be played at one of the team’s home stadiums. Luckily for Buccaneers fans that stadium is Raymond James or “Ray Jay” for short. Tom Brady came to the Buccaneers this season after deciding to move from The Patriots, the team he had spent his entire career playing for. With six Super Bowl rings already, this will be a historic opportunity for him to add a seventh ring to his collection, a record no one can imagine will ever be topped.

Patrick Mahomes

If there was one person on Earth right now who we might expect to catch up to Brady’s success it would be Patrick Mahomes. He and the Kansas City Chiefs took home the Lombardi Trophy last year and they’ve looked like a dominant team all season. Patrick Mahomes does things on the field that no other quarterback can do, so definitely you can’t rule him out of this game. Mahomes represents the next generation of great talent and could go on to be one of the greatest of all time.

Commercials, Food, and Beer

If Football is not for you there are plenty of other things to look forward to. Super Bowl commercials are always a big draw to watching as companies spend megabucks producing some of the most innovative, funny, and expensive commercials of the year. Super Bowl Sunday is also a great time to cut loose, eat like it’s the holiday season, and drink all the beer you can handle. So just sit back, relax and enjoy America’s most viewed event of all time!
